Romans 9:1-5(NASB)
1I am telling the truth in Christ, I am not lying, my conscience testifies with me in the Holy Spirit, 2that I have great sorrow and unceasing grief in my heart. 3For I could wish that I myself were accursed, separated from Christ for the sake of my brethren, my kinsmen according to the flesh, 4who are Israelites, to whom belongs the adoption as sons, and the glory and the covenants and the giving of the Law and the temple service and the promises, 5whose are the fathers, and from whom is the Christ according to the flesh, who is over all, God blessed forever. Amen.

Three Categories of People we are to Love
1. Love one another (other Christians—John 13:34-35)
2. Love our neighbor (people in general—Matt. 22:39)
3. Love our enemies (people who don’t like us—Matt. 5:44)

A Broken Heart

Romans 9:1-2(NASB)

Romans 9:3(NASB)
For I could wish that I myself were accursed, separated from Christ for the sake of my brethren, my kinsmen according to the flesh,

A Wasted Opportunity

Romans 9:4-5(NASB)
4who are Israelites, to whom belongs the adoption as sons, and the glory and the covenants and the giving of the Law and the temple service and the promises, 5whose are the fathers, and from whom is the Christ according to the flesh, who is over all, God blessed forever. Amen.

4I grew up with them. They had everything going for them—family, glory, covenants, revelation, worship, promises, 5to say nothing of being the race that produced the Messiah, the Christ, who is God over everything, always. Oh, yes!
